The Theses

Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the door of his church in Wittenberg, and sparked a reformation. Here are our theses -- only 11 of them. They did lead to a lot of discussion and some deep and meaningful sharing at our Calgary Learning Day workshop. Let us know what theses you would like to add -- or take away.

A. Everyone deserves the opportunity to know God and become the best they can be.

B. This is a universe of love, joy and hope.

C. Each and every one of us has a responsibility to be good stewards.

D. Jesus modeled a method of sharing beliefs that was effective in his time.

E. Jesus is a spiritual giant from whom we can learn how to relate to God.

F. The Bible is a collection of stories which had a message for the time in which they were written.

G. The Bible contains many insights into models for human behaviour.

H. The essence of our heritage from Jesus is that God is with us, no matter who we are, where we are, or what we have done.

I. Being the church today requires using current technology and culture to connect with people.

J. True ministry consists of empowering one person each day to be all they can be.

K. We have to become very clear and authentic individually about what we believe, and then have the courage to live from that belief.
